Barolo Bussia – Giacosa Fratelli
€ 28,50
The Fratelli (brothers) Giacosa winery is located in Neive, near Barbaresco. In the meantime, the brothers have been succeeded by their two sons, so that the name Cugini (cousins) Giacosa would be closer to the facts. In any case, Maurizio and Paolo continue their fathers’ business together. They buy grapes from farmers in the area and make wine from them themselves.
With various farmers, especially in grands crus such as Rio Sordo (Barbaresco) and Bussia (Barolo, also Barbera), they have long-term agreements about purchasing the grapes and they also dictate the treatment of the vineyard. In addition, they own various areas, including the vineyard Vigna del Mandorlo (Barolo). Fratelli Giacosa excels in solid standard quality for a reasonable price.
Of course, it is possible to give the wines online via Wines of Eden as gifts to family, friends, acquaintances or business relations.

This wine reflects the enormous quality of this area, through its intense and persistent aromas. A nose full of aromas such as tobacco, chocolate, coffee and leather. Hints of dried fruit such as plums. A wine that can be opened hours in advance, or decanted. Fresh acids keep the wine lively. Spicy and a long sultry aftertaste.

Vinification The grapes are harvested by hand, after which a long fermentation of 3 to 4 weeks takes place. The young wine then matures for 2 years in oak barrels of 3,000 and 6,000 litres. After bottling, the bottles remain in the cellar for at least 1 year.
