Champagne Brut Rosé “Crayons de Vigne”
€ 44,93
The Diot family, based in Vinay (southwest of Épernay), has owned vineyards in Champagne for several centuries, but until a few decades ago always sold all the grapes to the big Champagne houses. In the early 1960s, Jean Diot decided to start his own label: Champagne Jean Diot. In 1998, Jean’s son Jean-Philippe took over from his father, and with that the estate started to make considerable progress.
Where his father had started with only a Brut and a Rosé, Jean-Philippe expanded the range considerably, with, among other things, an Extra Brut, a Blanc de Blancs and a Blanc de Noirs and a great gastronomic vintage line in collaboration with Fabien Gay: Artéis. He also implemented the necessary innovations on the estate itself. He reorganised the vineyards (the family owns some seven hectares directly surrounding the house, and another five spread across the southern hills of Épernay and the Vallée de la Marne), built a reception room, and installed a new vinification room, which houses the pressoir and cuverie.
Of course, it is possible to give the wines online via Wines of Eden as gifts to family, friends, acquaintances or business relations.
Please feel free to contact us to hear about the possibilities.
Jean Diot Champagne Crayons de Vigne Rosé has an elegant and refreshing taste profile. It offers aromas of ripe strawberries, raspberries, and a hint of citrus. The taste is lively with a fine mousse, where fruity notes are complemented by subtle hints of brioche and a light minerality. The finish is fresh and elegant, making this rosé champagne versatile as an aperitif or with light dishes.

Vinification Through a short maceration of the Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes, which gives the characteristic rosé colour and flavours. After pressing, the wine ferments in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh fruit tones. The champagne then undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle and matures on the fine yeasts, which contributes to the refined bubbles and complex flavours of the rosé.
