We were curious about this young, mold-resistant variety, which we planted in 2018. The result is a great, balanced wine. The Donau Veltliner has a clear fruitiness, which complements the delicate peppery-spicy aroma of the parent variety Gr\u00fcner Veltliner.<\/p>\n<p>The 2022 vintage has intense pear notes, resulting in an exciting wine that, under optimal conditions, does not require crop protection and offers a whole new drinking experience. Our wine diversity is defined by different grape varieties from different vineyards, always typical of the wine-growing area. These wines represent a wide range of styles, ranging from light and fresh to strong and storable, so that there is a suitable wine for every occasion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A cross between Gr\u00fcner Veltliner and seyval blanc, Donau Veltliner is an Austrian variety that was first bred in 1996 and registered in Lower Austria in 2016. We couldn\u2019t wait to see what the vines could do. Highly resistant to fungi, they were planted in 2018, and since then they have produced excellent, wonderfully balanced wines.<\/p>\n<p>The delicate peppery-spicy aromas typical for Gr\u00fcner Veltliner are overlaid with a distinct fruitiness \u2013 the 2022 vintage has vibrant pear notes.
