Almost certainly originating from the Monferrat hills, but very widespread throughout the Alba area during the last century.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vine species:<\/strong> Barbera.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Colour:<\/strong> intense ruby red.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bouquet:<\/strong> winey, intense, and fruity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Taste:<\/strong> dry, fresh on the palate given its acidity; with age it improves and harmonises its characteristics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Min.<\/strong> alcoholic strength: 12,5% vol.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Ageing:<\/strong> wine which improves even in the bottle where it can mature to its best advantage for several years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Store:<\/strong> bottle horizontally, in a dark room and away from sudden temperature changes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serve:<\/strong> between 16\u00b0C and 18\u00b0C. Excellent with austere dishes of game, with roasts, pork meat, boiled meats, and spicy cheeses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The vine is vigorous, productive, and versatile: often requiring special attention to contain its exuberance.
